Client & Location Information

Fabulous opportunity within community pharmacy to receive mentoring in all things pharmacy. Within a few hours of Sydney and even closer to Canberra, this location has excellent schools, sporting facilities and historical significance. The pharmacy is rural, based 4 hours from Sydney and 2 hours from Canberra located on the Hume Hwy. The store is opened Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm and Saturdays 9 to 12pm.

Job Specification

You will be working as a Pharmacist and at time a PIC, alongside the Pharmacy owner plus rest of the team to bring the optimum in clinical services to loyal customers. Good old fashioned customer service is on the menu here, where you will have the opportunity to serve 3 different generations within the one family in a day. You will be working with a couple of Dispense Techs who will take on majority of the dispensing using Minfos to handle the medium script trade and some nursing home orders. This position will see you having an average 40.5 hr work week, including Saturday morning work however you will also be provided a long weekend once a month in addition to standard leave entitlements.

There will certainly be opportunity to implement additional professional services in addition to some that have already been rolled out. This is a unique opportunity for either a newly qualified or an experienced Pharmacist to be involved in trial programs and training for the development of a Health Destination Pharmacy. Ongoing training is also on offer for the right candidate surrounding the development of their professional services including: Vaccinations, sleep apnea, solution selling, smoking cessation, medication reviews, asthma education, wound care, diabetes education and compression garment fitting.


Skills Required

* Registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* Clear and concise communication skills with proven ability to build rapport with all ages.
* Experience working in a busy customer focused community pharmacy environment.
* Some experience with Pharmacy Practice Incentives (PPIs) including clinical interventions and MedsChecks would be preferred but not necessary.
* This role is ideally suited to someone with 2+ years post registered pharmacist experience who is keen to experience country pharmacy and all the opportunity that it offers.
